Nearly two weeks have gone by since we left Grande Synthe. We are establishing ourselves at a new site, doing some reconnaissance with our new neighbours, and strategizing for our first distribution by the border.
For all the friends we left behind, our hearts remain in mourning. We want to express our full gratitude to all those who worked together for this camp, and those who continue working in this renewed time of crisis:
Firstly, we deeply miss our Kurdish Brothers, and we send our love to you in the hope that you quickly find solace wherever you may be, whatever you do. We know that you are strong, kesha niya. 😉 We love you!
Medicine Sans Frontières (including DentistesSF and GynécologieSF), Utopia 56, Dunkerque Legal Suport, Women’s Centre, Adult Learning Centre, Children’s Centre, Croix Rouge, La Mairie de Grande Synthe, Auberge D’Immigrants, Refugee Community Kitchen, Care4Calais, SALAAM, ADRA, Au Secours Catholique, and all other associations who joined in this work, we thank you.
To our faithful donors, the people from La Linière need you perhaps NOW MORE THAN EVER.
URGENT NEEDS are tracksuits/gym clothes for men (all sizes), shoes (basket/track shoes sizes 6/7, 5/8, 5/9,5), t-shirt men all size, scarfs for women, tunics for women (all sizes but especially large), BOTTLED WATER and food.
Money donations can be given via the Women’s Centre fundraiser (https://www.dunkirkrefugeewomenscentre.com/donate) or donate to Auberge D’Immigrants (https://www.laubergedesmigrants.fr/fr/faire-un-don/)
All clothing and bedding as well as dry food can go to SALAAM (http://associationsalam.org/-Nous-soutenir-)
All food donations can go to RCK, or to Auberge D’Immigrants who also accept other materials such as SIM cards or sleeping materials (http://refugeecommunitykitchen.com/food/, https://www.laubergedesmigrants.fr/fr/dons-materiels/)
We never know when the chaos will end; all there is to do is continue to stay strong together in solidarity! Thanks for standing with us!
