Apparently frustrated that our solidarity action is completely legal, the Italian police seem to have begun resorting to more unashamed methods of repression.
After a nice distribution with a relaxed atmosphere on November 2nd, police went beyond their usual thorough document checks and arrested a member of Kesha Niya without any charge.
Denying him access to a lawyer or a translator, they attempted to give him a three-year ban from the Ventimiglia area; an obvious effort to discourage us, which was just as obviously going to fail anyway.
We are already in contact with legal representation, and are confident we can prove the police acted clearly outside of the law. We call now for donations to fund the procedure, the cost of which will be only around E200,- thanks to the wonderful solidarity network here.
Love and Peace.
